Butt Ugly But Fast These were the original 1500 Vulcans (some say they have "styling issues") made between 1987 and 1995. With their dual carburetors they were more powerful and much faster than the later single carb or FI Vulcans.

Typically clear plastic mounted on fork assembly to funnel air away from the rider and reduce turbulence. Nomads come stock with small lowers.
Just ordinary marbles from the toy store used to plug hoses leading to the Coasters. This is a quick fix for backfiring generally noticed on deceleration after exhaust modifications.
The Vulcan A,B & C models (also referred to as BUBF's) are not made any longer. The "A" models were dual carb. The D, E models are the restyled (in 1996) Vulcan "Classics" with single carburetors. "D" has a 4 speed transmission, "E" a 5 speed. The "G" model is the carbed Nomad and L models are fuel injected Nomads. "N" is the Classic FI, "J" is the Drifter and "P" is the Mean Streak.
Plastic Oil Gear used on 1500 engines before 2000 models. Replace with the Kawasaki Steel Oil Gear (SOG, below) or the Judge's gear (above).
Pollution control devices designed to add fresh air to exhaust gasses as they exit cylinders and enter header pipes. Often removed or bypassed to reduce engine operating temperatures and eliminate backfiring when using aftermarket pipes. They are the "boxes" with hoses connected to the front right of #1 and rear left of #2 cylinders.
Used to move handle bars back toward rider and upward slightly. Most common are 4x1 risers. Technically 4" up and 1" back but in reality more like 3" up and 2" back due to angles involved
